Introducing SunDiagram

SunDiagram is a SketchUp extension designed to create 3D Sun paths and analyze sunlight for architectural projects.

✔ Generate a 3D Sun path by simply entering coordinates, with support for Daylight Saving Time adjustments.
✔ Simulate shadows & Sun positions based on selected time frames.
✔ Batch export shadow and Sun position images with a single click.
✔ Supports animated video export (coming soon).

How to Use

🔸 1. Create Sunpath from Coordinates

  • From Model (recommended): Pre-load coordinates via File > Add Location (SketchUp 2024 and later) or File > Geo-location (SketchUp 2023 and earlier) for accurate results.
  • Manual Input: Enter coordinates manually to generate a Sun path (other features will not be available in this mode).

🔸 2. Create Shadow Analysis

  • Select a time frame → Click Apply → SunDiagram will automatically display shadows & Sun position.
  • Only works when Sunpath is created from Model.

🔸 3. Export Shadow Analysis (Still Images)

  • Batch export images based on selected time frames (e.g., December 6 AM - 6 PM, June 5 AM - 8 PM).
  • Images can be combined into PDFs or videos using external software (PDF, Photoshop).
